Leveling fast up to 80 can be a MAJOR pain, especially when you’re still learning the game. Hours and hours and hours of work, and half the time you barely know if you’re doing any good. That little xp bar at the bottom of your screen just won’t MOVE fast enough. Cheer up, my friend, there’s still hope. You can get to 80 faster than you ever thought possible. Don’t believe me? How about just under 1 week? Have I got your attention? There are a lot of approaches you can take to get to 80, I know. You’ve probably heard of a few already. The important part is GETTING there! Most advanced players agree, the real fun of the game doesn’t even BEGIN until 80.

So how do you do it? How do you get to 80 in a matter of a week of playing time as opposed to MONTHS of play time? The secret is to become a power leveler. There are a few parts to doing this. First, find an advanced player. Either find a guildie or make friends in a city somewhere. Then have them run you through instances to get the xp. Just make sure you don’t get left alone or you’re toast! The second step is to develop laser focus in your leveling efforts. Only take quests that give you over 1000 xp for the lower levels, and as you progress, keep looking for high level quests. You can do a few of the lower level ones if you need a break (or if they look really fun), but generally STAY FOCUSED.

You’re going to need some help finding an order to do the quests in. One of the nice things blizzard has done for us is include the locations of the quests on the map. Very nice. But how do you find the high level ones? At this point, there’s really no substitute for a good in-game leveler. Even with all the fancy new gadgets, blizzard won’t guide you to the best quests for the area you’re in, nor tell you where the next best level for you is. There are a few guides out there, but I still recommend Questup. They’ve been reliable for as long as I’ve been playing the game, and they’ll lead you exactly where you need to go.

They also include a little compass gadget to guide you to your next quest location and a coordinate guide, in case you want to find something not included with the guide. (I used this to find the Greench a couple of years ago for the Winterveil achievement for the first time. SUCH an epic battle).
