World addons are one of the smartest things Blizzard did when creating World of Warcraft. They left part of the software open source, so players could create their own tools to make the game even better. Usually, addons are just self-contained modifications to the user interface (short version, it looks different).
You can get as many addons as you want. Blizzard doesn’t limit you on that. Nice, huh?
If you want to get REALLY creative, you can go build your own addons. You’ll need to have some serious programming skills to get it done, but if you have an interest, by all means! Here’s my list of favorite addons you should check out.
1) First things first, let’s talk about a classic. KLH Threat Meter KLH has been around for a long time, and with good reason. It’s the choice of guildmasters and solo players gamewide, This is a meter to let you know how scary you are to enemies in the game. You use it when you’re soloing to let you know how noticed you are. Useful if you need to run away quickly. In a guild setting, you just want to make sure your aggro is lower than your tank’s, that way your enemies will go after him instead of you. It shows a picture of how much threat (how scary) generated toward a particular target.
If your raid buddies have the addon as well, you can tell where you are in relation, again, so you can make sure that you’re generating less threat than your tank.
2) Titan Panel This is a nice visualization tool that lets you see useful game data.
In short, it looks good, it feels good, and it’s easy to use. Play around with it some
3) Atlas These are your maps of battlegrounds, dungeon locations, flight points, and raid bosses. It gives you nice, detailed maps and lets you automatically load your existing User Interface Map.
At it’s core, it’s basically an image viewer, but it’s REALLY useful.
4) Natur Enemy Cast Bar This is designed to give you some bars for spells, cooldowns, dots, and stuns. The main reason you want this one is that it lets you customize timer sizes and textures. There are some other fun features to play with too. It also has sound options built in. It goes off on killing blows, death knight death grips, and several other
It lets you get inside your enemies head. See how useful that is? Whatever did you do before you found me?
5)Scrolling Combat Text
This little beauty is designed to make your life easier in combat. It gives you warnings about damage you’re taking without taking your attention away from your actions. Check it out, it’s worth your time.
6) Questup
This is my personal favorite addon, and I tend to talk about it a lot. Questup is a leveling addon to help you get your characters up to 80 as quick as you can. It puts a compass on your screen so you can see where you need to go next for your quest. It’s designed to make maxing your level as fast as you can.
Go check it out and let me know what you think. Click the link below to learn all about it and how to get it.
I’ve been getting a lot of email lately from concerned players wondering if the Team Idemise Questup leveling addon will get your account banned. The short answer here is no, it will not. I’ve tested this myself. I use it, I work with it, and I’ve NEVER had anyone approach me with any problems with it.
The boys over at Team Idemise worked their tales off to make sure that everything about they’re amazing in-game leveling addon would work with everything the powers-that-be at Blizzard decreed.
Here’s a classic for you. This is a short video teaching you how to get the Going Down! Achievement. The first one is for my Hordies, but don’t feel bad alliance guys, you’re up next there.
PS If you’re still looking for help in leveling up without having to wade through the same instances over and over again, click here to find out a better way.
Leveling fast up to 80 can be a MAJOR pain, especially when you’re still learning the game. Hours and hours and hours of work, and half the time you barely know if you’re doing any good. That little xp bar at the bottom of your screen just won’t MOVE fast enough. Cheer up, my friend, there’s still hope. You can get to 80 faster than you ever thought possible. Don’t believe me? How about just under 1 week? Have I got your attention? There are a lot of approaches you can take to get to 80, I know. You’ve probably heard of a few already. The important part is GETTING there! Most advanced players agree, the real fun of the game doesn’t even BEGIN until 80.
So how do you do it? How do you get to 80 in a matter of a week of playing time as opposed to MONTHS of play time? The secret is to become a power leveler. There are a few parts to doing this. First, find an advanced player. Either find a guildie or make friends in a city somewhere. Then have them run you through instances to get the xp. Just make sure you don’t get left alone or you’re toast! The second step is to develop laser focus in your leveling efforts. Only take quests that give you over 1000 xp for the lower levels, and as you progress, keep looking for high level quests. You can do a few of the lower level ones if you need a break (or if they look really fun), but generally STAY FOCUSED.
You’re going to need some help finding an order to do the quests in. One of the nice things blizzard has done for us is include the locations of the quests on the map. Very nice. But how do you find the high level ones? At this point, there’s really no substitute for a good in-game leveler. Even with all the fancy new gadgets, blizzard won’t guide you to the best quests for the area you’re in, nor tell you where the next best level for you is. There are a few guides out there, but I still recommend Questup. They’ve been reliable for as long as I’ve been playing the game, and they’ll lead you exactly where you need to go.
They also include a little compass gadget to guide you to your next quest location and a coordinate guide, in case you want to find something not included with the guide. (I used this to find the Greench a couple of years ago for the Winterveil achievement for the first time. SUCH an epic battle).
The Friend or Fowl achievement bugged me for the longest time. I was thinking of making a video of how to do it, but I found this video on Youtube the other day, and it does a good job. If you need help getting up to level 20 so you can start earning this achievement, you should click here to check it out. Enjoy!
Also, if you guys think of any achievements you’d like help with, via videos, articles, or other tutorials, leave me a comment, I’ll see what I can do for you!
Fastest Wow Leveler? That’s an add question, isn’ t it? Not really if you’re looking for a lot of value for the price you pay for those crazy guides. If you’re like me you want to make sure that the guide you use is the best, hands down, no question. There’s a lot of debate going around the net about who has the fastest guide on the planet, though. I thought I’d lay out a few ideas to describe what would have to be the BEST leveler in the game. Here are my thoughts.
It has to be in game – You and I both know that switching between windows is annoying with such a big program. It takes much too long and wastes valuable gaming time to have to keep going back and forth to a reader program and then trying to get back into the game. Even if you print it out, you have to search for what you’re looking for. No, to me the perfect leveler will have everything in-game, and I’ll be able to hide it at will without any problems (in case I feel like goofing off or whatever).
It has to be UP-TO-DATE. What’s the point of using a guide from three patches ago. And don’t even TRY to charge me for updates. That’s not how I play.
It has to be EASY to use. If you can’t fit the instructions into the back of a playing card, I don’t have the attention, the time, or the desire to even TRY using your product. No, keep it simple.
You better have excellent support if I can’t figure out how to use the guide. Seriously, take care of me or I’m gone.
I want a guarantee attached to my leveler. You can understand that, can’t you? I probably won’t use it, but just knowing I can if you have a stinky product, that’s going to help me.
I’ve looked at a LOT of leveling guides, and the best one I’ve found that includes all of this stuff is Questup. I use Questup alliance mainly, but I promise you the Horde program works wonders too. Go check it out and see for yourself. They hold the current record as the fastest wow leveler available, too, so it won’t hurt to take a look right? Just click here to see what I’m talking about.
The Questup Addon is treating me pretty well, these days. Old Redruben is moving up the ranks pretty quickly, quicker than any character I’ve played before. I goofed up while using the questup addon for a little while and deleted a bunch of quests I still needed to do by mistake. I actually had to play the game without my addon! I felt like I’d lost R2 and was flying solo. It was a little frightening, yes, thank you for asking.
After a little time bumming around Darkshore, Lakeshore, and Auberdeen, things started to slow down for me. I couldn’t figure out why I was having such a hard time with it. That was when I realized I was accepting and doing a lot of quests the addon hadn’t told me to do. It wasn’t even that I really wanted to do those quests, but just that it felt wrong to have those exclamation points over people’s heads. This is one of the major avenues Questup Alliance or Horde can do for you. It already KNOWS which quests will give you the best XP, the best equipment, the best money. It’s designed to make all the confusing stuff easy. I have my character all decked out in full scale mail everything, which isn’t the highest end equipment for a warrior, but it’s working well. And yes, those are dual weilded axes, thank you for noticing. Once I hit lvl 20, all SORTS of fun stuff opened up to me. I still really like working with Team Idemise’s masterpiece: The Questup Addon. You should seriously look into it further if you like playing World of Warcraft at ANY level. To all of my friends that read Wowleveler and to players of World of Warcraft everywhere, Happy Feast of Winter Veil, Merry Kwanzaa, Happy Christmas, and a Lovely Hanukkah, and may your Winter Solstice be fantastic.
You’ve heard about from a lot of different places, and there are those who claim this can revolutionize the way we play this classic MMORPG. But what is the Team Idemise 1-80 leveling guide, and is it a scam?
Let’s start off with the what. The Team Idemise 1-80 leveling guides are addon’s that you can add to your World of Warcraft account to help you find your quests faster, find your quest items and bosses faster, and as a result, level up a LOT faster than most people can by themselves.
Team Idemise is a group of professional gamers/programmers who got together (I understand it was originally for Counterstrike, so you KNOW they have some experience under their belts) and decided to help out the Noobs of the world. So they created these tools for us to use.
After I bought the addon, I installed it right away. They do make it VERY easy to do, and if you can cut and paste, this should be no problem. A child could do the install.
Then it was time to get questing. I decided that to give it a fair test I would start with a race and class I had never tried before. I’ll be honest with you, when I first started questing, I wasn’t overly impressed. There’s a big compass arrow that points where you want to go for your next objective, and a big window telling you what’s coming up. After I played around with it, I realized that unlike a lot of addons, I could CUSTOMIZE this one to suit myself. I could move the compass arrow, the windows, and even hide them altogether if they got too annoying, or if I just wanted to goof around. I also found out that they’re constantly updating and modifying the guide, and it all comes free with the purchase.
In my humble opinion, this is an addon that EVERYONE could use. After I played around and figured out how the program works, I started playing for real, with my trusty compass arrow in tow. I couldn’t BELIEVE how much faster it went. No hunting for turnins or searching the map for locations. I hit level 15 faster than I’ve ever made it before. I’ll post some pictures later, but so far, I’m LOVING this addon, and I highly recommend it. You can check it out by clicking here to read more about it.
World of Warcraft players everywhere, even those just beginning, are noticing ads for the powerful, all-inclusive game guide from Team Idemise called Questup. The Program is astounding! The hype is everywhere, touting it’s features. Most people, however, haven’t heard the whole story behind the product.
Just by reading this article, you’re going to learn things about the Idemise Guide that most of it’s users have no idea exist.
That is…not yet. Idemise takes an ordinary concept and adds it into this extraordinary guide that really helps you own the game experience, no matter how much or little time you might have.
The concept is called “Perfect Kill Range”.
While I don’t want to spoil the surprise ending, I will tell you that this piece of the program alone makes the whole add-on worth owning. It keeps the game interesting, fun, and most importantly keeps up the pace of the game. The truth of the matter is that the Idemise guide does seem to be more biased toward Horde leveling (probably because the developers prefer Horde characters), it lays out quest paths for any playable class, Horde or Alliance notwithstanding. A lot of leveling guides like to focus on hunters or warlocks. Not these guys. With good choices in talents, any class with any race can thrive and flourish in the World.
Team Idemise did what nobody else has done as effectively, they’re able to uncover the best quests for each class to level the most quickly and efficiently. Now, this isn’t to say that Questup is perfect. The only major downside is that the Idemise guide is geared towards ALL classes, but it doesn’t always have the class quests available. It also tends to assume you know where everything is geographically in all of the cities, regions, continents, and areas of the World. Luckily, they do include a coordinate option as well, so if you need to look up where something is, it can lead you right to it with the right coordinates. Certainly, though, the good outweighs the trying in the Idemise Guide. It’s worth a second look for ANYONE who’s serious about becoming a power-player, and especially for those who want to avoid wasting time in World of Warcraft.
